The idea behind this is an Atari ST/STE/Falcon compatible computer utilising VHDL IP Cores. Don't expect anything done tomorrow :o) Design is based around:

  • Mini ITX motherboard form facter 170mm by 170mm
  • CPU and DSP Daughterboards
  • Xilinx Spartan FPGA I/O
  • VGA Standard 15pin port
  • Flash based TOS
  • MFP 68901 with ST compatable serial port
  • PS2 mouse/keyboard
  • ACIA 6850 Midi (using generic PC gameport <> midi cable)
  • Yamaha YM2149
  • Enhanced Sound Matrix
  • DDR Main CPU memory
  • SDRAM Sound/Video memory
  • Shifter/VIDEL video chip
  • IDE with possible SATA support

So far only ideas and small amounts of design have been done. Currently (16/12/2006) I have a Xilinx Spartan development board and desktop ITX case. A 68000 CPU will be used initially and a Video DAC from Falcon motherboard.

Ideas most welcome, this will be a full open project.
